The hardest question for me to answer in this world is always the "Tell us all about you" question. The best way for me to answer is that "I am composed of contradictions and subject to change without notice."

Long, rough road

My life-partner's mother was diagnosed last year with a terminal cancer. She was given two months to live. Sadly, she passed away last week. She lived 9 months and three days past her date of diagnosis. She will be greatly missed, but I am greatful for the time I was able to spend with her while she was still with us. While we had those nine months to prepare for this - it has been one of the hardest times for both of us to deal with. She was the most wonderful and most caring person you could ever meet. She was loved by everyone who knew her.

Slightly Chumby

Telechumby Somehow, someway it seems that Chumby has arrived and she (he?) even has a blog. The company that makes this little gadget is actually encouraging people to hack it. I love the idea of something that was made to be improved upon by others. Great concept, great down-to-earth marketing, and great overall design. Apparently this nifty little thing was unveiled at this year's Foo Camp - man am I sorry I missed that this year.

FYI: The picture is from the Chumby blog and it is someone's hack of the Chumby - placing it inside the lovely tummy of Tinky Winky. All that is missing is the gay, red handbag.

Saddest News of the Day

The Crocodile Hunter I had to verify that the information I was reading earlier today was correct (as best I could) before I was willing to believe it. Steve Irwin, The Crocodile Hunter and Director of the Australia Zoo, has passed away. I just can't believe that he was killed by a Stingray when he has been involved with much more dangerous animals in his lifetime. His passing is a tragedy and he will be missed.

September already?

Today I knew I had officially become old when the words "I can't believe that it is already September" came out of my mouth in public. At least I know that I can know look forward to many more days of tired cliche's and colloquism (is that even a word?) in the future. I also look forward to discussing the weather as an actual topic of interest rather than just because of the possibility of a tornado.
